Editorial policy

This page exists so that a reader can tell what kind of writing this is before trusting a sentence in it.

What gets published

• Product facts only where the product states them. A dimension, a pile height, a fabric weight or a color name appears because it is stated for that piece, not because it sounds right.
• Honest limits travel with the claims. The pages that praise deep pile also say it cannot go under a dining chair, and the pages about backing say what a backing cannot do on a dusty floor.
• Anything touching flammability standards, falls, allergens or damp carries a link to the body that publishes the guidance and the date we read the page.
• Where a figure is unknown, it is left out. There are no invented weights, no invented test results and no invented certifications on this site.

What does not get published

• Invented credentials. No founding year, no head count, no award and no certificate number.
• Staged portraits. There are no photographs of people presented as our colleagues.
• Invented customer voices. There are no quoted testimonials anywhere on this site, and the only customer figures shown are rating averages and counts.
• Health claims. A rug makes a floor warmer and quieter. It does not treat anything, and no page here says it does.

Corrections

Write to hello@lochas.org. A correction is made on the next update and the page is changed rather than argued about. Prices, dimensions and color names are the errors we most want reported.

Independence

Nobody pays for a mention here. There are no sponsored placements, no gifted-in-exchange-for-coverage arrangements, and no advertising slots on any page.
